California doesn't have anything on Illinois in the "governor" department [one in prison and another on the way

Yes, but the original poster stated the "most hated" states. Through pop culture and the media, everyone seems to make fun of the California govenor. Illinois doesn't get enough ink to be mentioned.

I am nto from California so I do not know the local and state issues but as an outsider I happen to like the Governator. Give the guy some slack. We need to remember that he is the Governor during a horrible economic crisis and has had to make one tough decision after another.

Just curious, really why would anyone hate a whole state?

A lot of the times they are just generalizing. For example they go to one little town and get bad treatment, they categorize a whole state from that.

Jealousy. People seem to think that all 40 million of us Californians are all rich, fake, and stuck up. When I'm sure it's just jealousy/envy

Actually Arnold is well-liked as a person but has low approval rating as a governor since the economy is in the toilet and the legislature does nothing but argue. Once Schwarzenegger leaves Sacramento, he will go back to being a fun-loving person he has always been.

No it really isn't because everyone who bashes California live in the boonies or somewhere in the midwest and half of them have never even been to California before. They spend so much time saying "California is fake and stuck up, blah blah blah." Them saying that makes me suspect that they have never been to California. All 40 million of us aren't Beverly Hills. give me a break
