I also do not care for Iowa for some wierd reason.

After spending alot of time on the Florida boards though, it seems that MANY Floridians really hate their state. Most of them cannot wait to leave. Personally I love Florida!
This is exactly what I'm talking about. Virginian's despise Maryland but act like they don't when confronted. Referring to it as the "darkside" hmmm I wonder what this could be in reference to?

Well the feeling is mutual but for different reasons.

  • Arlington county retro-ceded from D.C. so they can continue slave trade.
  • Virginia being the confederate capital and still wanting to wave that flag and give commemorate the occasion.
  • The civil war that divided the country.
  • The out of control sprawl of nova.

I wonder why the feds keep feeding the monster. Just a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Also, I cant stand how Virginians drive, they have to be slowest zombie minded "drivers" in the nation, going below the speed limit on the left lane on state highways. They act as if they're the only ones on the roads.

They're the reason why D.Cs traffic problems are so bad and will never be solved, if people drive as slow as they do, you can build as many lanes as you want and it wont do you any good. At least know when a line if forming behind you and you;re the lead car, you're going too slow.

Texas and California.

It seems California is used as a representation for Liberals while Texas is related more to conservatives.

There are more reasons...should I continue?

Doesn't aren't reasons, your a liberal hack, grow up! I don't Hate New York, or California for being Liberal. I Don't hate Chicago for giving us the nightmare known as Obama.

It's because of idiotic attitudes like this that some Virginian's do not like Marylander's. And not everyone in VA waves the rebel flag. I don't really see it that much, maybe as much as I see it in MD. As far as driving goes, you are completely exaggerating. Actually you're wrong. Idiot drivers inhabit every orifice of this country. Even MD. I see that not everyone in MD is through with the civil war either.

But with the initial question of most hated states, all states have something redeemable about them. Even all cities have something to offer. That doesn't mean that I prefer to go to all these states or cities though. There are some that I would prefer to not go to. That doesn't mean I hate them though. I may despise certain attitudes like above, but you get what you put in. I have been to some notoriously rude and mean cities and didn't encounter the attitudes I was expecting or told about.

I would substitute Kansas for Missouri easily. Missouri has two major metro areas (St. Louis, Kansas City) along with Branson for country music lovers and is generally a more beautiful state than Kansas (Ozarks, Mississippi river).

Kansas has also been controversial recently due to that crazy Westboro Baptist group in Topeka interrupting and shouting down military funerals of all things! It may be unfair to put that on a whole state, but people make the association. There have been shootings of doctors at Planned Parenthood clinics there, too. Outside of the city of Lawrence, they do not put much out there to try and counter the backward image being presented.

I would agree with your choices in the other regions.

Kansas has always had a bad image . Driving through I usually tryed to avoid Kansas. It's also out of the way going most places. Missouri cuts off considerable miles going to Dallas from Chicago as an example.

I can't stand South Dakota, the downfall and armpit of America. The people there are so cocky, angry, pushy, and rude and they think they're better than everybody. They always seem to provoke and cause most of Americas problems, and they are obviously to blame for the downfall of our economy. It's full of high crime, corruption, and chaos. The state has more drugs, hookers, and debauchery per capita than any other state, it's just disgusting. South Dakota is the root of all evil. Grrrrr......just the thought of South Dakota makes my blood boil.
