Houston trumps Boston,Boston the most overrated city in America.Boston has average wages for its high cost of living on top of high taxes. Houston is a mega city population growing with a booming economy. If your not going to school in Boston I wouldn't move there,it offers nothing ragidy highways, rude people, horrible food. Everything looks worn out just like every city on the east coast. U have to compare Houston to cities like Los Angeles, Chicago real major cities not a New York wanna be.

Thanks for resurrecting a discussion that's been dead for 3 years in order to rant about how much you don't like Boston. Personally, you couldn't pay me to live in Houston (yes I've been there).

Let's agree that I won't move to Houston and you won't live/move to/whatever/Boston and we'll all be happy.

There's this one activity I like to do a lot in Boston called breathing.

Nice skyline you have in Houston, if you can ever see it that is.

I don't know what your taking but "horrible food says it all"

Houston is a good city, but get real. Do you have the colleges and hospitals that are the best in the world..
And worn out i think u mean history and culture.

Oh, and sports...how is houston doing in that department?

IDK know dude, but up here in the NE there is much to offer. Houston has it bright spots 2, but they are just
spot's compared to the full landscape here..

Houston actually is said to have some of the best Medical Facilities and hospitals in the nation, if not the world.

Houston is a such a large city mostly by virtue of aggressive annexation. If you compare something more sensible than city limits, like combined statistical areas (CSA), then Houston clearly can't compete with the true "mega cities" in the US of NYC and LA. It's actually even smaller than Boston and in-state rival DFW (7).

1) NYC - 23 m
2) LA - 18 m
3) Chicago - 9.9 m
6) Boston - 8.0 m
9) Houston - 6.4 m

And the economy of Houston follows oil; oil is doing pretty well right now and so is Houston. If we have another 80's style oil crash, Houston could be in big trouble.

While Houston does have good medical facilities, both MGH and B&W in Boston are generally considered to be better than anything in Houston. These rankings are probably not relevant to the average patient, but I don't think many would argue Houston has the best hospitals in the US, let alone the world.

The MD Anderson Cancer center in Houston was ranked the top cancer center in the US, though.

That is true, I will give you that. Houston does have a massive medical center that employs a large number of people and has top notch facilities.

Why waste time responding to someone who is clearly a troll? Not to mention he/she is showing off what the fabulous Texas education can do.

As jayrandom mentioned, TMC is one the top (if not the top) cancer research facilities in the nation, and a well regarded medical facility over all.

With that said, in the overall life sciences field, Houston won't even come up in the conversation. This is where Boston stands out, on both the national and international stage.
