DC and I didn't realize how much of a rowhouse city this is. Interesting. If it's not in the first tier with Philadelphia and Baltimore. It's at the top in the next tier.

I think Philly, San Francisco, DC, and Baltimore are the great rowhouse cities in the US.

It's pretty apples-to-oranges. I've lived in both. Chicago is the yin to DC's yang, or vice versa. DC is the American capital and Chicago is the all-American city. Chicago is highly centralized, DC is pretty decentralized (though the center is rather important). Et cetera. Any similarities are mainly surface- the underlying "feel" is very different.
