I thought this would be an interesting poll. Which is the better nightlife spot? Both are world renowned party strips in glitzy types of cities. Both attract a celebrity crowd. South Beach has last call a little later than in CA I think. Florida bars allow smoking inside while in CA they must smoke outside. Here are a couple of links to get things going.

South Beach, Miami

What is it...out the door at 2AM in CA? Miami Beach clubs stop serving at 5AM. Miami proper goes to 7AM.

South Beach, bikinis and beaches win every time with me. Add alcohol and it's an absolute no-brainer.

It's close, but having spent more time in MIA than LA, I'm gonna go with MIA. Both are incredible though, but I have fond memories of the A1A strip area, the restaurants, tropical drinks and Brazilian waitresses.

LOL.

I think I would take South Beach.

Now, if you were gay, I think the Sunset Strip would be the choice as all the clubs on Santa Monica Blvd are right down the hill.

Sunset Strip is not particularly gay. People just assume it is, because its in West Hollywood. But you are correct. Santa Monica Blvd is the gay part of West Hollywood.

Honestly, I will say that due to the revitalization of downtown, Hollywood proper), Mid-Wilshire, the Sunset Strip, while still hopping, has become considered a little passe. As these other areas have become hoppin'.
