There is no poll neede. Any halfwit can realize this thread should be between Washington DC and San Francisco. Any other city shouldn't even be compared.

Boston should be included it is the largest financial center in the USA outside of NYC and Chicago and ranks number 6 world wide. It also has the largest bio-medical cluster in the country and is the largest center of university research in the world.

Too many facts backing the inclusion of the Bay in the conversation of Top 3/4/5, so I'll just quote DANNYY from another thread.
What about "second-most seats in a downtown theater district" or tallest building not in a CBD? Houston has those.

Correct....DC may not have the population but it does have a signifigance out of porportion to its size. I say SF Bay Area due to the population puts it in a sort of big-city status, aside from the obvious intellectual/cultural/technological signfigance.

I''d might add Boston, due to the presence of a lot of tech industry, Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Brandies: an intellectual center.

There should be an easier way to check if you already contributed to a thread than going through 80 pages of posts. LOL.
