List some cities that have similar demographics.

I'd say Atlanta and Washington, D.C. are very similar in that respect. What do you guys think?

It is usually cities close in geographical location like Boise and Spokane, Portland and Seattle, SLC and Denver, Bakersfield and Fresno, Charlotte and Nashville, Orlando and Tampa, etc.

Usually, if you take cities from the same state, they will have similar demographics. But Dallas and Houston do have some differences.

Boise is quite a bit more diverse than Spokane, and Denver is waaay more diverse than SLC.

DC and Baltimore have similar demographics. Probably not for much longer though as DC is quickly losing alot of its black population and gaining more white residents

I was using Wikipedia stats from the 2000 census, so I do not want to argue their similarity but they were close IMO.

LA and Miami have some similarities. Both cities have a majority Latino population, Miami has a higher percentage of Blacks and LA has a higer percentage of Asians. Both have a smaller white population.

Chicago and NYC have some similarities as well.

As for Houston and Dallas, if we brake it down by city only:

Dallas is:
42.8% Hispanic
30.5% White
23.2% Black
2.5% Asian
1.0% Other

Houston is:
41.7% Hispanic
28.0% White
24.3% Black
5.3% Asian
.7% Other

As for the Metro Area's as of 2007:

DFW is:
51.6% White (this number has since dropped below 50%)
27.9% Hispanic
13.8% Black
5.0% Asian
1.8% Other

Metro Houston is:
42.4% White
34.0% Hispanic
16.3% Black
5.8% Asian
1.5% Other

Portland/Seattle
Pittsburgh/Indianapolis/Columbus
Nashville/Jacksonville/Kansas City/Raleigh
Las Vegas/Denver/Austin
Tucson/Phoenix
Cincinnati/St. Louis
Tampa/Orlando
Rochester/Milwaukee
Richmond/Cleveland/Atlanta
Baltimore/Memphis/New Orleans
Dallas/Houston
