Just the very fact that each and every state thinks they can Voltron together to even ATTEMPT to compete with our state says it ALL!

Oh let me count the ways in which you STILL fall short. And we're not even the biggest. Not even close. Just the Best!

And so you east-coasties don't get it twisted, an east-coaster started this thread. And I can go find a dozen or more iterations of this (CA vs. X# of Bullsh*t states) started by you guys if you like.

Cali is NOT having this conversation! Period.

Northwestern New Jersey does have some commonality with some of upstate NY and northeast PA. It is a small region though. For the most part northern Jersey is more culturally aligned with downstate NY. Being widely within that enormous NYC urban sphere of influence.

That's all. To be blunt, you aren't likely to find the same kinds of hillbillies or rednecks in northern New Jersey you could find in Pennsylvania or upstate NY.

From what I hear that would be more like the Pine barrens.

Reason one as to why I dislike California: the smug self important attitude.

Trust me, I don't like it in NYC either.

I don't think you understood my post at all. Your reply doesn't make much sense. It's like you're responding to a totally different conversation.

I know upstate NY is just as rural/hickish. I grew up there. Right in the hills too.

Californians can't see beyond their state but people from NYC can't see anything beyond their city. I knew a guy from NYC who flew to Toronto to spend time with his gf's family. Lol the poor dude got all depressed how Toronto is not NYC.

Let me parachute into this swamp.

2011 GDP

1. Cali- 1.4 Trillion
3.NY-1.2 Trillion
6.PA- 600 B
7.NJ-500 B

PA-NY-NJ= 2.3 Trillion. Thats a bludgeoning gang. PA-NY-NJ the most powerful tri-state region in the USA.

I hope you are not basing your opinions of 8 million in NYC based on one person!

Lets face it. The more populated states and cities, like California, New York and even New Jersey, are logically going to have more people traveling, some of which are going to be morons or jerks. But that does not mean we are all like that.

Where did you get this from

California was $1.901 Trillion in 2010 and is easily over $2 Trillion now.

Monty, did you get this from the Wickapedia article? I just checked it myself. It said some thing about GSP not GDP. Not sure what the difference is.
