It's no contest. Downtown LA will win over Downtown Atlanta. It's bigger, and LA is a bigger city.

Gotta disagree with this. LA's downtown definitely feels larger and is structurally more urban.

These drive thru videos are the worst to show what either downtown is all about, especially on an early Sunday morning with a camera pointed straight ahead.

DTLA is still a work in progress, its districts are still fragmented and not cohesive.

Neither is great, but downtown L.A. is improving MUCH quicker than downtown Atlanta. Downtown L.A. is already better, and in 5-6 years will be far better.

Question for Atlanta people:

Are there any decent streetwalls in Atlanta? I mean for more than 3 or 4 blocks. If so, where? I'd like to check it out on Google Streetview.
