That geo guy isn't from Philly. He used to bash philly on his San Jose account and now he's acting like he's from Philly so he can get everyone to hate Philly by saying idiotic things.
I was about to say that he's so over-the-top that he has to be somebody who hates Philadelphia masquerading as somebody from Philadelphia in order to **** people off. I, for one, would like for him to be gone, and it wouldn't hurt if he took at last a couple of California douchebags with him.
Any city left standing, and it doesn't matter which one, will win the Olympics since U.S. has redeemed itself and humble itself and hasn't hosted the Olympics for a long time. Just put best face forward and the global cycle favors the last remaining host city, even it is Charlotte or Cincinnati.
ONLY Philadelphia should host the games. We have better transportation than all the cities listed, the ONLY city with a 4-sport complex, excellent rowing facilities, the largest bike race in the US, the Broad Street Run (which is more popular than the New York marathon this year), and being the most historical city in the US, Philly will DEFINITELY put on an opening ceremony that puts Atlanta and LA to shame.
Any city left standing and putting on its best face forward will most likely picked by the IOC to host the Olympics in the U.S. for the first time since Atlanta hosted one. I mean summer Olympics, not winter.
No, Philly does not have the best transportation system. It's definitely not the best suited city for the Olympics. Think SF, LA, San Diego, Houston and so many others, but any city that survive the cut by US. Olympic Committee should get the Olympics due to IOC feeling it's time for the Olympics to be held in the U.S., provided any city puts its best face forward.

Is durf really arguing with himself? Wow is too much to ask the mods to rid the board of this nutcase?
Kansas City, MO. It's in the direct center of the country and would give the world a good look at a part of America not often shown on TV. Plus the chance of bad weather would be close to nil
Haha, yeah, that's what the Mayor (or Governor?) said too. I tend to agree, we probably COULD have, but it would have been incredibly cost-prohibitive and unfortunately cities like Beijing set a new benchmark for how expensive these Olympics can be. One thing the Twin Cities has going for it is that it would have 5 new or upgraded facilities before the Olympics would have started, but since NONE of them were designed to hold crowds for Olympic-sized events we'd still have to build (or expand) a stadium to host the opening and closing ceremonies.
Like I said, I'm glad we (Minneapolis) dropped out of the ballot. I don't think it's always worth it to host an Olympics -- not all cities benefit as much as Salt Lake or Atlanta did, and many would argue that those cities were already destined to boom, regardless of the Olympics.
I DO think Minneapolis-St. Paul needs more national and international exposure, however. The region has too many negative stereotypes and connotations and it's one of the few major U.S. cities in the country to fly so largely under the radar as it does!

It can be SO brutally hot there in the summer though!
95-105 with high humidity is COMMON in July and August -- especially if the weather is similar to last summer!
I'm not suggesting it should host the Olympics, but would Denver qualify? And I'm not talking about the Winter Olympics. I know the chances of a city like Denverhosting the Summer Olympics are pretty low, but I think it would be a great place for it. The only real problems I can think of are financial issues and maybe transportation. Otherewise, we have the Sporting venues, hotels, and the climate to do so. It's only a dream though.

If you're so worried about it, you should just ask BLAXTOR. He can tell you where that person really lives and how many accounts that person has had in the past via IP.
