This is obviously a lopsided comparison. Denver wins on most of these metrics as it is significantly larger than Charlotte and has been for some time now.
I voted for Denver. It wins overall in the criteria you presented, based on my limited time in Denver a few years ago, and from living in Charlotte for 6 years.
I personally would rather live, (obviously) in Charlotte because of the COL and proximity to the coast and family, but I love to visit Denver when I get the chance.
Before this thread goes where we all know it will go, I'd highly suggest that folks who are interested in a real world comparison do a quick google streetview tour of random neighborhoods in both cities. Clearly, this is NOT a NYC vs Mayberry comparison (though some will try to make it out that way). Also, as I type, the current temperature in Charlotte is 64; 32 is the current temp in Denver. Eventhough Denver is older, larger, and has better name recognition; there's only 5 months out of the year that I'd pick Denver over Charlotte. Obviously, April isn't one of those months...
Denver spent almost ALL of march in the 70's!!! Even hit 80's some! We get FAR MORE sunny days than almost any city in the US! Even when it is cold here, the sun is out! Denver wins this in almost all categories. I know Charlotte is an up and coming city as well! Not hating.

LOL. Whatever. Denver still beats out Charlotte in numerous categories.
I've lived in Charlotte, Denver and now Minneapolis. Minneapolis has harsh weather conditions, but it still beats out both Charlotte and Denver. I guess I don't think weather is as important as others.

You might have opened up another can of worms saying that Minneapolis beats out Denver, but there's plenty of threads on here comparing those two so I won't instigate anything here.
