When I'm in West Houston, like Westheimer area, It feels as if I am in another tropical country..... I mean all the Asians, Africans, Central Americans, Indian/Pakastani, Middle Easterners.... That corridor is VERY international, granted their are traditional pockets of Houston that are VERY traditional American and Southern/Texan.

In terms of population I think Seattle and Houston are neck and neck: a lot of diversity within Houston is inter-American: having more blacks or American Hispanics does not make a place more international. Seattle may be more white but it's a different type of diversity. I'm also willing to bet Seattle's White population is much more diverse than Houston's.

And population diversity is merely ONE criteria to judge how international a place is. On the other criteria, Seattle wins.

Ummmm, Go to West Houston... You will find a Plethora of Nigerians, Kenyans, Central Americans (Not even talking about Mexicans) Middle easterners, Pakistanis.... A little further west, Asians... even on the SouthEastern side their are big pockets of Asians...... I think you are WAYY off with your assesment that the the diversity in Houston is mainly the traditional, black/white/mexican split.... wayyy offf

We did go through the suburbs of Houston - I'm not sure where, went to the Wal-Mart and it looked 80% Hispanic. I assume that was the Hispanic part of town. Would've liked to have seen Houston but it wasn't on the itinerary (I was with a tour group for that leg).

I don't doubt Houston's diversity, I'm just saying Seattle's is probably comparable.

You don't seriously believe Houston is more of a 'world city' than Seattle though, do you.

Philadelphia is constantly rated top cultural destination in several magazines, and polls. I think it deserves top 5.

Houston has some of the highest Nigerian, Hispanic, and Vietnamese, populations in the US. There are even Vietnamese enclaves in Houston.

I am aware of this. Tila Tequila is from Houston, although I'm sure it's not something you wanna mention a lot. She was also born in the same town as I was - Singapore - and like me left at a very young age.

But again, we're talking about how international a city is overall.

Wow you really don't know what you are talking about. Seattle has very few Hispanics and Blacks. Seattle is a veryAsian and white city. I dont calk that diverse, at least by US standards. Houston has all four. I think you are trying to make Seattle look more diverse than it really is.

Seattle is 7.9% black and 6.6% Hispanic. Sizable communities, if you ask me. It's black communities is also fairly old.

Your posts aren't as inane as they used to be, did you graduate high school and finally leave SD for college? I can't wait to hear the response! "I wouldn't go there so it's not international" is what I'm expecting. LOL
Who the heck are those people? I have no idea what you're talking about????
