Example, the woman would prefer the man with a rugged beard over the metrosexual. A city where being manly, tough, and having a dominant gait gets more women than being all into yourself and dressing like your trying to make a fashion statement everywhere you go.

Ha. The 1700's maybe. Oh you mean now days? pssh nowhere that I know. Keeping yourself up these days are more important now than ever. You can work hard in a Ford factory but whenever you go out you don't have to look like you work there. It doesn't matter if your in some upscale area with trust fund babies or in "the hood", the man who looks like he cares about his appearance will always get more attention from the ladies. It has been like this for a while now, can't really think of a time when it haven't. Now that I think about it. Even in classic movies/ plays based off of almost a century ago you still see many males and females being well groomed, can't say if that's how it really was but im guessing it was. If you really are having women problems than it might not even be your appearance, there are more things that go into play than just appearance. But first impression is very important so if your sure the problem is your appearance than perhaps you should change it, OR use your look to it's full potential. For example, if you have short hair don't let it get nappy, put a nice style to it. If you have alot of facial hair shave it if it gets out of control, line it up nice, try to put a certain style to it that you think will look best on you. Same for you clothes (ESPECIALLY your clothes). Not only for the ladies but for you too, it will also boast your confidence (another thing many women like). But as far as finding entire cities that go for one type of guy, goodluck. In some places it may be easier to look less flashy than others but you could find a few women here and there that describes what you looking for.

I'd say most cities.

Being a pretty boy is downright unmasculine.

It's all about self-confidence. If you have the mindset that you're good enough, and who cares what other people think, then you'll have no trouble. If, on the other hand, you are too much into thinking what women think about you, then you'll come off as needy. That's a turn-off to women. This is a problem, I know, if you're not around women very often, and you feel that you have limited opportunity to introduce yourself. Thus, I'd advocate that if you're single, you've got to make an effort to be places where you can frequently see women.

A man who doesn't have time or access to be in close proximity to women will usually find himself in a dilemma. Not enough time to make women feel that they know you well enough. Not enough time to prevent you from jumping too soon to meet the women, given the lack of time, so that you often come off looking needy.

People want what isn't available. There's probably a bigger market for manly men in cities where they are scarce.
