You know, I've been through San Francisco and BROWN would have been something! Streets heading south toward the airport had, NO COLOR! All the two story homes were a mere 10 feet from the curb and everything, I mean everything, was white! The street was like an alleyway that headed straight out of town. There were no trees or much of any flora, nevermind the fauna! Reminded me of a bad dream where you find yourself in a strange urban moonscape and you can't run. Like some of those towns in Ireland, where everything is the same! San Francisco is also the most beautiful city in America. See my point?

Wow, talk about lies. What a pathetic rebuttle. Now your saying SF is colorless? When is the last time you've been here? SF is one of the best loved, if not the best loved, city in the US. LA is one of the most hated - and after this weekend, I can see why.

The rowhouses here give the city a character LA would only dream of possessing. A European flare. A uniqueness that is completely lacking in LA.

And let's talk about flora and fauna. Outside Beverly Hills, there is none in LA, other than Palm trees. Thin-trunked Palm trees. Huge roads, concrete, ugly buildings and Palm trees. That's beauty to behold - ha!

Keep yapping all you want. LA is wretched. SF is stunningly beautiful. Nothing you can say will ever convince any non-biased (i.e. non-Angeleno) otherwise.

It's really too bad. LA could have been something...but, in reality, it is nothing.

Rowhouses, that's what they are! Los Angeles, by far, has the most diverse residential architecture in the world. And as beautiful as San Francisco is, there is no comparison in that regard. I'm very familiar with the Bay Area, thank you. My rebuttle was more of an example, like a mirror for you. Your overreaction was childish and had the aire of agenda about it. It revealed more about you than anything. A long, deep seated hatred of Los Angeles. Jealousy, even. That's San Francisco for ya.

What would anyone in SF have to be jealous about in regards to LA? I'd like to know.

I wouldn't actually chalk LA's diverse residential architecture as being a positive thing. One ugly building after another is a positive thing? Beverly Hills is beautiful, but I wouldn't exactly call the architecture there very diverse. It's very sterile and lifeless. Rodeo drive pales in comparision to NYC's 5th Avenue, Berlin's Ku'damm and Paris' Champs Elysees. Rodeo is nice and clean, but it's so forced...no life.

The weather and the ocean are the only things LA has going for it.

Sorry, I was wrong about LA compared to Chicago. Chicago is WAY WAY WAY better than LA! I think part of this is due to the fact that I finally had close trips to both Chicago and LA. Much easier to compare.

I think you have it backwards lunarshield - it's Angelenos who know their city sucks who are on here trying to convince the rest of us otherwise.

That's funny. NO ONE in SF is jealous of LA. Why would we ever be? LA pales in comparision to SF.

Oh look, now the Chicagoans have got the Californians fighting each other. Doesn't this thread belong in the California Forum?

Well,
to be fair, Los Angeles is an exciting place with lots going on, but as you stated, people arent really jealous at all. Its more of a pity or dissapointment-like a car crash that you dont want to look at but cant help it-ya know?

But this is due to Bay Area provincialism-we are kinda stuck up after all.
