There are many downtowns that stand out as 'pretty' to me. The ones below immediately come to mind, in alphabetical order:
Boston, Chicago, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco & Seattle

There are others too.

I love driving on I-75 looking at Cincinnati's skyline. That is an awesome view from the road at night! I think the Cincinnati Skyline may be one of the prettiest downtown skylines in our country. It's certainly underrated.

There is "skyline" and then there's "downtown".

There's a difference....

and even setting

SF to me is a perfect example where the skyline and setting are very pretty yet the downtown is a little gritty in spots (some might even say dirty). To me that doesnt bother me as SF is a great DT on all aspects to me even if a little dirty/gritty in spots

Cincinnati's skyline is very small for a 2+ million metro.

2. Seattle (Beautiful to mountain backdrop, on the water, clean, vibrant)

3. Charlotte (Yes, Charlotte. Clean, sparkling, enought hings to do)

4. Denver (again, nice backdrop of mountains, clean, vibrant)

5. Portland, OR (Nice backdrop, vibrant)

Though I am an easterner, seems that unintentionally I tend to be biased towards the West in this case

Sorry, but Chicago blows all of them out of the water. SD- bland, Seattle, nice but not dt Chicagom Charlotte, sterile, Denver OK, nice mountain background, Portland, i thought depressing except for Washington Park. Maybe you should visit sometime.

Why are you correcting their opinion with yours?

I'd say Chicago has the prettiest downtown. Boston and San Francisco are the biggest runners up in my opinion.
