I just Google it and Nashville proposed Transit System was a five billion dollar to build and then four more billion dollars to maintain , and do upkeep on . That was just some poor leadership by the local government , Nashville Tennessee is not a 9 billion dollar Transit System City.

This. Nashville should've gone for something far less ambitious and less expensive. Built something in just the urban core (Downtown/Midtown-Vanderbilt/East Nashville) and then expand from that as more people get on board (pun not intended).

They tried that with AMP several years ago and the NIMBYs shot that down too. It was supposed to serve the major West End- Downtown Corridor. It failed.
