As far as the topic is concerned, I'll pick LA, since I am a homer and a completely biased LA fan. Also due to the fact that I can't stand anything that has to do with the bay area. They do have pretty good fans up there though.

Haha, I remember that World Series. I was in 8th grade and living in the SFV, deep in the heart of Dodger country.

Even though most of the time, Dodger fans hate the Angels, it was so easy for Dodger fans to cheer them on vs. the Giants. It was awesome seeing them win and seeing all of Greater LA unite. It was even sweeter that it was against the Giants!

I wouldn't mind an A's Dodgers WS, ala 1988. hopefully with the same result

Philadelphia will scrounge up some fans for the A's. The Phillies were a losing team for a long time ,yet still sold out games. The A's have a winning record right now and can't even fill their own stadium.

That's quite a statment considering they are only a 1 game out of the Wild Card Race. You're an idiot if you think a team currently over .500 is going to lose a 100 games this season. Clearly everyone that said that before the season began has been proved wrong as the A's have been winning lately. MONEYBALL 2012!
The White Sox, Tigers, Angels, Red Sox, Rays, and Orioles would like to have a word with you.

The Oakland A's barely even exist. Most people don't even know that Oakland has a baseball team. It would be better served by being in a large sports market, like Philadelphia.

So that shows how strong support is for the Phillie's, again why would anyone in Philly start rooting for the A's? Also the ownership has ZERO interest in moving to Philly, they already have enough trouble dealing with this stupid territorial rights issue here so why would they even bother somewhere 3,000 miles away?

The Oakland Coliseum is an absolute dump and if you had been there recently you'd see why they have attendance issues. Build a new stadium in the Bay Area and the fans will come back like they have before. Giants didn't have the attendance they currently do until they built a new ballpark.

And what would that be? Yes there are multiple teams vying for those Wild Card spots, congrats you're learning about baseball.

Again, explain to me how a team over .500 that has won 11 of 13 in the month of July is going to lose a 100 games this year?????

It's already in one of the largest sports markets, one that is much wealthier than Philly too. It has past proven success here. There is no reason to think it can't again under the right leadership and with a new ballpark.

Just shut up already with this wet dream of yours of getting the A's brought on by your constant inferority complex with anything that has to do with the Bay Area.

The Phillies did not sell out the stadium when they were sucking. Between 1985-2004 they were below the NL Average in attendance. They only started selling out the stadium when ...big shock... they started winning.

Philadelphia Phillies Attendance Records by Baseball Almanac

The A's owners don't want to move to Philly...they want $ilicon Valley money. They want to sell luxury suites to the Yahoos, Googles, Apples, Facebooks, Ciscos

The A's aren't moving to Philly. No one is discussing that seriously except for some fan in Philladelphia and a news columnist. There's no ownership group that has the money and desire to move the team there. The A's will most likely go to San Jose.

Why would someone start a thread asking what's the better sports area the Bay Area or LA--and then take their own thread way off course? Oh, that's right...

Anyways, glad LA is winning this poll.

To be honest, I feel like the Lakers and Laker fanbase ALONE should decisively decide this in LA's favor. Considering how many SF Giants bandwagoners there are and how people are suddenly interested in the 49ers should put this thread to rest.

And it seems that all the most popular sports teams in CA are from LA: Dodgers frequently outdraw the Giants, Angels DEFINITELY outdraw the A's, Kings and Ducks both have better attendance than the Sharks, and people know about the Raiders because they were in LA.

The irony of talking about the Lakers fanbase and calling out the bandwagoners of another team is hilarious.

Perhaps you should worry more about your bottom of the division Phillies over teams in CA you've never even seen play at their homes.

The Dodgers outdraw the Giants? By all means don't let the facts get in the way. The Giants have sold out EVERY game since 2010. They currently have one of the longest sellout streaks in the MLB. Pretty obvious you have no clue on what's going on the West Coast.

Dodgers have a much higher capacity, something like 15k more seats than the Giants. Its a lot harder to sell out a stadium with 55k seats than one with around 40k. Generally the Dodgers either draw near the same or more. Only a few years have the Giants outdrawn them in the last decade.
