They could've used any Motown music for Detroit.

The music overall was pretty weak. So much vapid rap and hip hop...

But I like the sentiment.
Like it or not, several of those cities have hip hop influence. Why NOT use them? Could have gone either way....

You're right, it did work for a couple of them. Pittsburgh I was fine with, for example. And I actually love the Magnetic Fields song he used for Washington, DC. But there's such a rich musical history in US cities, I don't think it would have been too much of a struggle to find more fitting tracks for, say, Chicago and Detroit.

Yeah.

Chicago, I would have gone "Sweet Home Chicago".

Detroit.... like I said, Eminem is a good choice especially with that song, but any Motown song would have been just as good.

They got some pictures wrong to.
I would have used a Slum Village track for Detroit. Afro Rican's, "Give it All You Got," for Miami. For Dallas, I would have used the theme from Dallas.

Some not mentioned by you:
"Take Me Back to Chicago," by Chicago, for Chicago.

For L.A., "Low Rider," by War.

For Philadelphia, "Rockin Music," by Steady B.
