Yeah right. Post some songs and videos. No one checks for New York/NJ Hip Hop outside of the tri-state anymore. It isn't 1995 anymore. New York rappers aren't respected, even in their own city, unless they sign to major record labels. Thats how its been since the Sugar Hill Gang in New York. Every new New York rapper has to come out holding hands with a respected veteran to gain any respect (i.e. Vado coming out with Cam'Ron, Smoke Dza coming out with Curren$y). Most of the new unsigned New York rappers are a bunch of confused wannabe from L.A. off-brand gang bangers who just started to decide to start flagging Blood or Crip affiliations in the past five years. Most new New York rappers also try to blatantly sound like southern rappers in their beats and delivery.
The Hip Hop movement in the Bay has always been underground since the days of Too $hort in the early 80's. The best Bay Area Hip Hop, past and present, in my opinion, has always been underground and independent.
