San Antonio - I was very charmed when I visited there. Very friendly and great food.
Austin - Nice looking city, good downtown, I like the hills and lakes.
Sacremento - can't go wrong with the location between the Bay Area and Tahoe.
Cleveland - I like that it's on the Lake and has quite a bit of charm. Couldn't stand winter there though.
Kansas City - only driven through it, would like to go back though. Seems to have a good art & music scene
Columbus - I could probably handle a nice midwestern college city I suppose
Indianapolis - this is where the list starts dropping off for me. Nothing bad about Indy, just ...meh..indifference.
San Jose - too techy and expensive for my blood
Charlotte - not for me, just not into the new South
Cincinnati - too close to Kentucky, I really don't like Kentucky
Las Vegas - oh God no
Orlando - not into it.

Not really important to me either way, but I am curious... is there a story here?
How would you rank them (first to last) in the following criteria:

Sacramento
San Jose
2. Nighttime vibrancy (just thinking of fri-sat nightlife)
San Antonio

3. Size of metro (how big the cities "feel" to me)

Love it...but I agree. You compare Las Vegas to NY, LA, Chicago...not to these sort of cities.

Yes, I was going to comment on Vegas. It's an outlier because, a fact that most people don't know, is that the Las Vegas Strip/Blvd isn't even in the Las Vegas city limits! The actual downtown, where Fremont street is, is more fitting of a city with about 50,000 people, truly, and you have to walk through some pretty ghetto-y nabes to get there.
