I'm surprised nobody said the Hamptons probably because it's so expensive but besides the price the place is really beautiful and amazing.

1. Cape Cod and The Islands: Vibrant towns, great and diverse landscape, PTown Alone, Amazing Food Scene... Has a little bit of everything.
2. Maine Coast: Like the Cape but more scenic, isnt as Posh, its more casual and has better seafood.
3. VA Beach: Super Fun, and a short drive to the Outer Banks!
4. Outer Banks: Beach quality is the best
5. Jersey Shore: Slightly Trashy, Has nice parts but its not nearly as iconic and nice as Maine, Cape, or Virginia Beach/NC
6. Newport/Southern RI: Lots of hidden gems, but it could get boring beyond Newport.
7. Ocean City MD
8. Hamptons
9. NH Beaches Alone
10. Delaware Beaches

Martha's Vineyard is tops in my book. Narragansett Rhode Island is my 2nd favorite.

Where are places like Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Daytona Beach, Ft Lauderdale, Miami Beach, Key West? All east coast places that have better beaches.

Will agree here. The coast of New England, while definitely very scenic and extremely quaint, is often functionally terrible for beach enjoyment. Also, generally lacking in the same fun, "let your hair down" beach town vibe (uppity middle-aged-to-old white people are fully to blame) compared to southern beaches.

Maine, you're great in many other ways, but I'm sorry--rocks just aren't that great for lounging.

Ogunquit, Maine has sandy beaches...the issue with having a rocky coastline is you have to know where the sandy beaches are..

No coastal areas south of NC? Charleston, Savannah, Jekyll Island, St. Augustine? Wow!

Of those on the list, I'd take the Outer Banks. It's a bit out of the way, but it's breathtakingly beautiful, VERY easy beach access, not overly expensive, lots to do, very historic, and warm ocean water.
