My favorite US beach is Lanikai on 'Oahu. Just gorgeous.

chicago is an awesome city, but i hope no one is trying to compare the lake to the ocean. especially the pacific ocean. some of those views are unbelievable. my cousin got married in one of the hotels on laguna beach..........damn!

I am really afraid some Chicagoans really believe the lake offers as much as the ocean. Those artificialy planted palm trees are supposed to prove that point

As far as beaches go, those in Chicago on Lake Michigan are easily as good as those in SF on the Great Hwy.

The person is asking for the best place to raise two children and you people are arguing beaches? I don't know about you all, but when it comes to criteria for where I want to raise children, which place has a better beach ambiance is right near the bottom of the list.
