Baltimore definitely belongs on that list. B-More is easily the poorest and most neglected big city in America. Unlike Detroit, there are not a whole lot of tidy single family homes with front lawns, driveways and garages in Baltimore. In Baltimore, even the downtown area around Lexington Market is dangerous and unpredictable.

Agreed- I used to live in St. Louis for a long time, the violence is centered in the worst neighborhoods in the north side. Again- common sense applies, and you'd be just fine there.

It can be surprising considering that Atlanta(even in its messed up economic situation), is not crumbling like Detroit and St. Louis. It doesn't have the same issues with corruption as New Orleans(although a former Atlanta mayor has done time for corruption).

It's not too surprising because of its location. Back during the days of the crack epidemic, boats from Colombia used to ship cocaine into Miami. Guess which city is a straight shot from Miami on I-75? Atlanta is. Murders rates were very bad as a result.

Atlanta's murder rate has dropped alot in the last few years. However, it still has a considerably high murder rate.

if Chicago isnt on the list its not a valid list.
Simple as that

Corruption is deadly. Chicago's claim to fame is Al Capone which is sad.

its a valid list. its a breakdown of murders per 100,000 pop. . why is that so hard for some people to understand? ie. chances are much greater for you to be murdered within the city limits of st.louis,detroit,cleveland,etc. vs la,ny,chicago, etc

Don't you ever get tired of trolling Chicago? It's not going to change anything. Indianapolis is still one of the most boring places I've ever seen.

Finally Florida cities don't make that list. About time.

I am surprised Philadelphia and Washington D.C. are not on here, the other ones do not surprise me. And also New Orleans isn't on here! Must be because Katrina moved all the thugs out.
