It's nice that you're looking at Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is a nice place to raise a family, though it's not the Midwest. People in Pittsburgh say their northeastern, not midwestern.

MILWAUKEE: If your looking for an urban and sprawling area then this place will work greatly for you. Downtown is rapidly expanding in business, transportation, and housing. Northwestern HQ under construction along with another proposed Johnson Controls HQ not to mention several condo and apartment high rises. A brand new streetcar is under construction with by 2020 offering service to the entire downtown area; Riverwalk, lakefront, and university. Life in the area is vibrant with a brand new entertainment district under construction with the new bucks arena. The city is just a smaller version of Chicago. Try it out. Seeing it's first population gain in 5 decades with thousands of millenials flocking to the inner city.

^ An interesting update on Milwaukee, but do you realize that, years ago, the OP moved on? Therefore, using his original criteria, there's no need to pursue this thread any further.

I know. Just thought I'd give Milwaukee at least a chance. Most people don't think of it as much in the shadow of Chicago.

Sounds a lot like Philadelphia with NYC.
