I find it hilarious that the Atlanta boosters think that they are comparable to LA! A sprawling low density metropolis compared to a high density one like LA? I think the only thing both have in common is huge highways.

Very much so. The South Bay cities in LA County are similar to Orange County in a conservative mindset among the White population. The South Bay is quite conventional compared to the trendiness of West LA.

Hmm. Obama won 70% of the vote in Santa Clara County, 46% of the vote in Orange County. Hard to tell what % voting population was whites (not the same as the general population, which is 46% non-hispanic white in Orange County* vs 35% for Santa Clara), but the difference seems too high to be explained by non-hispanic white %. Orange County has a really low Democrat vote for a minority-majority county, compared to say much less diverse Long Island (maybe 70% non-hispanic white), Democrats sometimes lose the white vote by a bit but still win overall.

Anyway, I didn't realize conventional = conservative, unless you meant conservative in style rather than conservative in voting patterns. It's hard for me to imagine Silicon Valley to be typical "Middle America" unless you're comparing it places like San Francisco, West LA or Berkeley.

*Orange County really named its airport for John Wayne?

Yeah, Orange County, South Bay, and San Diego Conservative seems alot diffirent than Conservative down here. Those areas are "conservative" only compared to extremely Liberal areas like what was said above me(West LA, SF, Berkeley).

But this is the true hilarious part no one is even saying Atlanta is built like LA, so you just made that up because you saw Atlanta mention. Who are these posters? See this is what happens when you don't read.

1. Most of last few pages posters weren't even saying Atlanta is like LA but rather a discussion of urbanity in the early 20th century. Which is technically was meant to contrast the cities.

2. The only thing I said really comparing them is Atlanta is consider materialistic and a smaller media hub. it's more akin to Houston layout but Miami vibe.

3. Then later a poster posted some misleading links of Bankhead to represent Atlanta urbanity. Again this not saying those cities were similar but rather those links weren't good to get the feel of Atlanta.

P.S No sunbelt city is a dense as LA. Also Besides DC in the answer choices, none of answer choices is as dense as LA not even Miami, all the answer are sprawling low density compared to LA.

LA County's "South Bay" as in Torrance area, I don't think they meant Santa Clara County. LA, Bay Area, and San Diego all have areas referred to as "South Bay" in their metros.

Whoa. I thought everyone was talking about South Bay of the Bay Area — Santa Clara County / Silicon Valley. East Coast ignorance here.
