There are over 700,000 millionaires in NYC. That's nearly as much as the ENTIRE city population of San Francisco.
Awww...well there are 1.4 million poor people in NYC as well
And this just came out:
Individuals worth $30 Million+, 2014
New York 8,655................+8% over 2013
San Francisco 5,460...... +12% over 2013
Los Angeles 5,135............+4% over 2013
SF ranks 4th in the world behind NY, London and Tokyo. LA is 5th, followed by Paris and Hong Kong( both in the 3,000 range)
Quote:
San Francisco will never even come close to NYC's importance, globally or domestically. EVER.
Yawns.
It’s hard to pinpoint the exact moment that
San Francisco morphed into bizarro-world
New York...being, in many ways, more New York–ish
than New York itself—its wealth more
impressive, its infatuation with power and
status more blinding...

NYC is the template city by which we judge all cities. On urbanity, nightlife, food, culture, etc.
We dont follow molds out west hun, we break them.

Ok but you haven't broken molds aside mostly tech and drugs.
What do you think SF would look like without tech? It's biggest player in finance is VC which depends obtusely on the tech industry in SF. NYC is the diverse economy and that's why it's the entry portal for immigrants, families, and businesses from around the world because there's demand for more skillset. SF is a more scenic, richer, smarter Boston IMO.
It's not in the league of cities like Paris, NYC, London, Tokyo, Moscow, Hong Kong, Sydney, Rome, LA.
I'm willing to bet most tourists in SF are there for business in the tech industry and not for leisure contrast to real worldly destinations Paris, London, NYC, Hong Kong, LA that are destinations first and business hubs second.

NYC is Mercedes' #1 import city btw.

haha once again, welcome to 2014.
Tesla is BY FAR the auto brand most associated with SF today. OH, and the Tesla Model S is built in the SF MSA and is the world's status car at this time.
EU standards? They arent up to US standards. pfft, As if.
What a joke.
The EU is wealthier, healthier, safer, more educated than the US. SF is in the Wild West so the disparity is higher from EU. Unlike the Northeast which is superior to most EU countries and certainly wealthier, healthier, more educated.
NYC is in a more desirable location than SF. The world comes to NYC, unlike SF.

Outside of wealthy suburban areas and small slivers of a few downtown areas, the Northeast gives off a trailer vibe. Actually.

Yes, every bumf*ck in the world comes to NYC--SF only wants winners.
1. The Northeast is definitely wealthier and more educated than California. That's a fact.
2. NYC is the most exciting city for real estate in the world. People from all over the world look to buy in NYC. San Francisco? Not so much. There is a reason there is a Million Dollar Listing New York, and not one in SF.
3. And a Tesla? Lol. What a piece of ****. The only people turning heads to look at a Tesla are wondering who the idiot was who bought that ugly car. Give me a BMW, Porsche, Merc, etc. any day. Biggest waste of $100k you'll ever spend in your life.

Europe and the Northeast are both yesterday's news. This is now our world, you just live in it.

Of course, New York attracts tacky, trashy drama queens-that makes for great tv.
