My top 5:
- New York
- Los Angeles
- Chicago
- Washington
- Bay Area

Not my top 5 for where I'd choose to live in (insert Miami & Boston and take out Los Angeles & Bay Area for that) but my top 5 from what I think are the most well rounded cities in this country. No way is Los Angeles not on there.

My top would be:

1. NYC
2. Los Angeles
3. Chicago
4. Washington D.C.
5. Bay Area
6. Philadelphia
7. Boston
8. Houston
9. Miami
10. Seattle
11. Dallas
12. Atlanta

13... it's a wash after that.

So yeah, two of the top 5 are on the East Coast, two of the top 5 are on the West Coast, 1 in the mid-west.

However for all top cities, 4 are on the East Coast, one is in the mid-west, 3 are on the west coast and 4 are in the south.

Not bad, not bad at all. I share the same exact cities in bold, in any given order. Not bad, we have a quite a few glaring similarities, 16 out of 20 of the cities.

Mine in order (where I could live "happily"):
- New York
- Washington
- Chicago
- Boston (alternates with San Francisco-- depending on season or what I'm in the mood for)
- Miami
- San Francisco (alternates with Boston-- see Boston for details)
- Seattle (fluctuates with Denver, Tucson, San Diego)
- Denver (fluctuates with Seattle, Tucson, San Diego)
- Tucson (fluctuates with Seattle, Denver, San Diego)
- San Diego (fluctuates with Seattle, Denver, Tucson)
- Austin
- Dallas (fluctuates with Houston, Los Angeles)
- Houston (fluctuates with Dallas, Los Angeles)
- Los Angeles (fluctuates with Dallas, Houston)
- Atlanta (after Atlanta, there's sort of a sizable gap)
- Portland
- Phoenix
- Minneapolis

This is always true except when it comes to places with most scenic nature or if you talk about the 5 worst cities in america. None of them would be on either of those lists. Its always detroit, dallas, houston, atlanta and phoenix/los angeles/denver/Chicago/Orlando/

Most of have similar top 10 lists. Generally, everyone has NY, LA, and Chicago in the top 10. Where most people differ is SF, SD, DC, Boston, Seattle, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston/Dallas, Minneapolis and the Portland/Austin/Charlotte of the world.

In no particular order:

Los Angeles
San Francisco
San Diego
Miami

I left out NYC because honestly, I hate leafy suburban sprawl. And as we all know from ACTUAL FACTS, there are FEW cities in the US that sprawl more than NYC. So, I chose 4 of the LEAST sprawly metros in the country Based on which I'd choose first then so on.

What an absurd argument.

I have trouble picking like 6-7 cities I'd want to live in, much less 10. I kind of see bigger cities as "multiple" cities though...Living in Oakland is a different experience than SF, living in Brooklyn is a different experience than Manhattan, etc. Chicago is worth 5 Austin's on the list. LA is worth 8 of them, NYC 10, etc. in terms of opportunity. While I'll visit almost any city once, I know what I like enough not to want to move there.
