City population means little to nothing (and Atlanta isn't 14th there, it ranks 40th), and if Atlanta was 600 square miles like Houston, it would be close to Houston's size.

I'd encourage the OP to start threads in both the Atlanta and Houston subforums. There will be more objective, in-depth information there and less City vs. City nonsense.

By a whopping 350 psm which is the definition of negligible. Again, Atlanta would essentially have the same population as Houston if it were the same physical size. They are both low-density Sunbelt cities.
If you take the City of Atlanta add Cobb County and Dekalb County that right there is 1.8 million in about 700 square miles but that's including the less dense areas of Cobb and Dekalb.
If I took the time to add to Atlanta the population of North Fulton county the Northern half of Dekalb the Eastern and Southern portion of Cobb County I'm pretty sure you would have land area and population figures very very similar to Houston. Probably even denser. I don't have time though to go through and add populations and areas together zip code by zip code like that for now.

It's possible they could move there. Georgia has a 67% high school graduation rate... that's not good, regardless of how the northern tier schools are ranked and where they move.

Whether its 67% or 80% ,that's 33% vs 20% that has not graduated.How how does that vastly effect those who HAVE graduated?IT DOES NOT!
If you really want to use useless stats then here is oe:Georgia ranks 23rd in college educated adults.Texas ranks 30th.
I've lived in Atlanta for thirteen years. Here are some things to consider. First, 6% state income tax in Georgia. In Texas, 0% income tax. Atlanta schools were caught up in THE WORST test cheating scandal in history. That means that no one with children will want to live inside the city limits. I've had four television sets stolen from my home in west Atlanta. I bought a (new) 3BR home for $155,000. With all the mortgage fraud that went on in Atlanta, my house is now worth +/- $80,000. The local police raided a gay bar (predominately white) looking for drugs. They didn't even find a baby aspirin, BUT the head of the drug unit was stopped for DUI, and he was found to be in possession of marijuana as well. The affluent suburbs are pulling out from Atlanta and forming their own municipalities and taking their tax base with them. I have visited Houston on two occasions. I observed NO homeless beggars downtown, all the traffic lights seemed to be synchronized and traffic flowed smoothly, and, oh yeah. No state income tax! The truth may hurt, but Houston gets my vote.
