^I kind of like the mix of buildings Lansing has... old AND new. It's not super exciting, but it's kind of cool. There are bigger cities with a lot less.
Lol...yea, Lubbock is pretty pittiful! I'd agree with the San Jose, and El Paso areas because they should be more impressive. If your gonna exclude Tucson because of the beautiful mountainous background though you'd also have to exclude 3 or 4 others up there. Shreveport's is not unimpressive to me for a metro of 400K. Whoever said McAllen, TX. I'd agree completely. The Texas Valley all toghter is over a million easily and there is no distinguised skyline....very bad. Huntsville, AL., Augusta, GA., Laredo, TX., Greenville\Spartanburg also in the million range, and no impressive skyline. There are several. I thought Whichita, KS. had a horrible looking skyline when I drove through there last time for a decient sized city.

El Paso's is not only boring but UGLY too.... it's old and dingy!! Lubbock is bad also, however considering the size it's way better than El Paso's!
That picture that is shown of Lubbock does not include two of our "skyscapers", this is what it really looks like. http://www.agnewassociates.com/_images/lubblubb.jpg http://www.mhbg.com/skyline3.jpg (broken link)
I don't think it's great, but I think it holds its own. That picture on the first page is the reason it has gotten so many votes.
San jose has the worst skyline in the U.S. if not the world. Its tallest builings "the 88" is only 286 ft tall. For a city of 900k this is really pathetic. Cities like SLC are only 180k and dwarf the SJ skyline. There is about the same amount of people in the SLC metro as there is in the entire city of SJ! Our gauging of a cities skyline must take into account its population size both metro and proper. I dont expect Lubbuck or SLC to have much of a skyline with roughly 200k city propers. Forget claiming that an airport made the skyline a certain way - SJ stills owns that skyline.
well lubbocks skyline has changed for the better about 20 years late ... keep in mind some the buildings on the tech campus look more modern than downtown and are almost as tall
