$8 million Route 66 visitor center planned at the western entrance to the city. Albuquerque has the longest intact urban stretch of Route 66 in the nation.

The $18 million redevelopment of the historic Route 66 landmark El Vado Motel/El Vado Place new construction was featured on the Forbes website recently. It features a 22-room boutique motel, a spa, food and retail spaces, plus 32 apartments.

$35 million Lobo Rainforest at Innovate ABQ. The six-story building has 155 two-bedroom student apartments above the ground-floor classroom and office space, credit union and coffee shop. The office space tenants include Sandia National Labs, the Air Force Research Laboratory and General Atomics.

$115 million The Highlands project with food hall, retail and office space, 122-room hotel and 320 residential units. The first phase of the project was recently approved for $20 million in bonds by the city, and construction should get underway soon. $26.4 million in bonds for the hotel were also approved by the city last week.
