St Louis vs New Orleans: Which city had or has a stronger French influence (populations, people)

Both of these cities were settled as French trading posts in the 1700's, and were part of the Louisiana Purchase. So which city historically or currently has a stronger French influence?

New Orleans by a mile but St.Louis has a large German influence. New Orleans and St. Louis have very large Sicilians populations.

In numbers of people with French ancestry who Knows? Now in what city 'embraces and capitalizes' on it I will say New Orleans.

I'm pretty sure St. Louis was only a fort under French rule so it never really was a "french city". New Orleans was by and large the only city during French rule of Louisiana.

Baton Rouge was sizeable and under French rule for about 100 years.
