Daytona Beach. I prefer warmer weather and ocean temperatures, so that's one thing. I also like a bit of excitement (Daytona offers that), and at the same time, relaxation.

Myrtle Beach by far. It's one of the best beaches of the southern states and maybe even the east coast.

Daytona is a pretty average beach.

Wow, and that's coming from someone who lives in Florida!

I must disagree with that. Daytona Beach lets you drive cars onto the sand, and has great boardwalk activities. That makes it far from average. The water is South Carolina also looks very brown. Daytona Beach has bluer water.

The beach itself at Myrtle Beach is the most shell covered, "crunchy" beach I've seen, between 2nd Ave pier and the commercial boardwalk anyway. I like the blue collar vibe of Myrtle Beach.

Never been to Myrtle Beach, but I'd pick that any day over Daytona Beach. Daytona is far from the spring break paradise it was once viewed as. While the area has tried to clean up in recent years, there are really only a handful of nice hotels on the east side of A1A. While the beach itself is okay, there is very little nightlife and there are loads of sketchy people everywhere - especially in the motels on the other side of A1A.

Beach driving is so much fun and is truly an interesting part of Daytona history.

Yeah. As for the beach itself I can't explain why but there is this really depressing feeling I get whenever I get close to it.
