The Northeast no contest. California's neighborhoods are more segregated.

Statistically, California for sure. NYC/Jersey has some very integrated areas and parts of NOVA is pretty integrated, but that's about it for the Northeast.

The suburbs to the South of LA and the East Bay are extremely integrated. On the whole, this belongs to California.

5 California metros in the top 10.

Maybe the OP can include Guam, Turkey and Tatooine to the Northeast Voltron. That should be enough to put the region over the top.

Is this question supposed to be a joke? California in a landslide, no contest. Come to Sacramento and see how integrated our neighborhoods are...

Well right off the bat, the Northeast is nearly 70% Non Hispanic White. LMAO.

California on the other hand, has no racial majority.

Aside from that, CAs largest group is rivaled in size by our second largest group.

Northeast 2011
Non Hispanic White 68.2%
Hispanic 13.0%
Black 11.0%
Asian 5.6%
Two or More Races 1.6%
American Indian 0.2%
Native Hawaiian/Pac. Islander 0.0%

California 2011
Non Hispanic White 39.6%
Hispanic 38.1%
Asian 13.0%
Black 5.7%
Two or More Races 2.6%
American Indian 0.4%
Native Hawaiian/Pac. Islander 0.4%

So The Northeast has more Whites and Blacks whereas CA has more Hispanics, Asians, Multiracial, American Indians and Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders.

As far as integration, I don't see how the Northeast could possibly win.

The Northeast tends to be more segregated but California has a higher level of racial hostility.

They clearly don't, I honestly thought this thread was a joke when I first saw it.

-10 of the top 25 most diverse cities are in Cali
-4 for the North East

-7 of the least diverse cities are in the North East
-0 of them are in Cali

-13 of the top 25 most diverse places are in Cali and 7 of the top 10
-3 of them are in the North East

-8 of the 25 least diverse places are in the North East
-0 of them are in Cali

Using gang wars in L.A. to back up your argument seems pretty desperate to me. You're using gang members to prove your point??..I mean come on how many people are ACTUALLY in a gang...a very very small percentage. Cali wins in a landslide.

LA is more diverse than NYC, but the neighborhoods aren't as integrated as the Northeast, from my experience.
