I have an option between Dallas, TX (DFW area) or Myrtle Beach, SC as part of my current job.
Assuming that income/salary and career growth opportunities are same,

In regards to the following parameters in that order

a. Warmer tolerable weather year round
b. Cost of living/cost of home or rentals
c. Affordable quality education for kids through public schools
d. Tolerable traffic during peak hours/availability of public transportation
e. Scenic beauty/easy access to recreation
f. Peaceful / reasonably less crime rate

Please advice which is a better option

Thanks!

You're comparing a small, beach resort with one of the largest metro areas other country. It's beyond apples and oranges!

This is very odd. The places are so different that it really shouldn't be hard to choose between them.

Do you want to live in a bustling, cosmopolitan metro of 6.5 million people hundreds of miles from any beach/body of water or a quiet resort town on the beach?

Shouldn't be that hard if you know what you want.

I'm personally not a big beach person and Myrtle Beach being a much much much much smaller city would get old fast with the lack of big city amenities.

Myrtle Beach is practically a nuclear testing facility. Don't move there.

This is just like when Matt made a Dallas vs. Galveston thread in the Texas forum... but at least Galveston is part of ANOTHER major metro area, just about the same size as DFW.

I don't get these. It's like asking who'll win a fight between a T-Rex and a cow.

Where are you moving from?

Do you prefer a large city or a small one?

Depends if you want to live in a big city or a small city near the beach. It's whatever your preference is. lol

A,B,C,E, and F will work in both locations.....

D - Houston will have worst traffic and better public transportation and MB will have minimal/better traffic with really no public transportation.
