I can legally get drunk but does that mean I can legally drive drunk?

ya true. honestly i've only been to houston briefly but i liked the city from what i saw. as far as vietnamese coffee shops go, i think the large import model scene in socal helps them a lot. but truth be told, a good percentage of those girls aren't even vietnamese.

was kinda disappointed with the coffee shops in houston. girls didn't seem as pretty and not as much nudity. and didn't seem to be as many escorting opportunities. but better than nothing at all i guess which is the case for most american cities.

Come to LA and do that. I'll make sure one of my cop friends is right there to watch. No seriously, lets make it happen.

MSA growth rates from 2010-2012:

Greater Houston: 4.33%

LA: 1.75%
Houston's MSA has less than half the population of L.A.'s. It's easier to grow in percentage from a lower base.

Having said that, Houston is growing impressively. Must be its increasingly liberal demographics that are contributing to its prosperity.

^^ Houston is also at a similar stage in its growth as Los Angeles was in the 1940s/50s/60s. LA had even stronger growth rates during that time that started to drop after the region reached about 7,000,000 people.

so the question is... will Houston be able to sustain high growth rates? If it matches Los Angeles's growth rates over time, it won't reach LA's current population until 2040 or 2050.

the los angeles MSA added 224,084 people between the 2010 census and the 2012 estimates (361,992 for CSA). the houston MSA added 256,619 during the same time frame.

Right, some like percentages but I consider myself more of a raw numbers type. Which in my opinion speaks louder, especially for large cities.

Let's face it! LA smokes Houston by a million mile. LA has much better and real downtown while Houston's is so dead. There's no comparison. LA is a major city, and Houston is a sprawling and relatively undeveloped with zone suburb.
