Hey y'all,

I'm a 25 y/o currently living in upstate NY. I absolutely love it here, but this past winter was just...ugh... wayy too cold... and it's just time to make another job move somewhere new.

I'm currently interviewing with a company in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the process is going great. I'm not too familiar with the area, but I'm all for getting acquainted the beaches and the weather is great most of the year...not to mention Miami is not too far away.

Even though I know I'd be setting myself up for the winters I don't want, I've also been keeping an eye out for anything in Baltimore. I'm from Pittsburgh, lived in DC for a while, and I have family in all three cities. But I'm not as familiar with B'more, which is why I'm really considering it. It's also close to Philly and NYC (a day trip there is what I enjoy most about where I am now)

I don't plan to get a seat on the Baby Train any time soon, so schools are far from a deciding factor for me. I'm more concerned with shallow single guy stuff lol

-nightlife
-amount of other young professionals
-dating scene
-things to do (art, music, etc)
-local organizations to join
-public transportation
-Affordability for single living in the city (I refuse to let my youth die prematurely in the suburbs lol)

Based on these -- and anything else you guys can think of that I forgot -- which city should I really be pushing for?

I would choose Baltimore just cause of the proximity to major cities & mild climate & it seems like you would like it

Your list screams Baltimore, but West Palm isn't too bad. It has nice nightlife, great women, and the weather is superb if you like it hot. Miami is also drivable and I know many people that live in southern Palm Beach County that go out to Miami at night (similar drive to living in Columbia and partying in DC). I still think Baltimore is good for you but wanted to highlight WPBs benefits.

I live in West Palm Beach and I say Baltimore all the way. Honestly, the Acela corridor is where it's at for your spot. It's not really great for careers here, you'll be depraving yourself of a better wage and quality of life by moving down here. If you're looking for walkability, we're awful at that too.

I would choose neither. Go to DC instead of Baltimore. DC has lower crime rates, better nightlife, bigger jobs market, better public transportation, more diversity, and tons of free museums.
