How Long will it take SkyView Atlanta (new Giant Ferris Wheel in downtown Atlanta...nxt to centennial park for those who dont know)..to reach the same iconic stature and fame/ recognition as the Arch or the Needle

It probably never will. Our Ferris wheel is 212 ft tall and it's over 20 years older than the New Ferris Wheel in Atlanta but it's not nationally known.

Never.....I mean who really gives a damn about a ferris wheel. You see one at the state/county fair every year. You have to travel to see the arch and space needle.

The problem is that large Ferris wheels are really common. See: List of Ferris wheels - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Its unlikely any but the very tallest will get much notice and even then how many of the ones at the top of the list do you recognize? They're fun but cities are going to have do something else to create "iconic" attractions.

And Seattle also has its own Great Wheel on the waterfront that was built a year or two ago. They seem to be getting common now, I would not put that up as any city's iconic landmark.

I voted the arch. Never heard about Atlanta's ferris wheel. Ferris wheels aren't even that iconic (at this point anyway). They're popping up everywhere.
