These are two cities that are quite similar in a lot of ways. They both house a major state university (that loves football), they're both state capitals and they are around the same size (Columbus has the slight edge in the metro. I'm expecting Austin will pass it soon).

Vote for which city you like overall in the poll and post which city do you prefer in these categories:

Downtown
Food
Culture
Nightlife
Diversity
Capitol Building
Economy
Universities

If this were a heavyweight fight, Columbus would be KO'd in the first round.

Downtown: Austin
Food: Austin
Culture: Austin
Nightlife: Austin
Diversity: Austin
Capitol Building: Austin
Economy: Austin
Universities: Austin

Austin will win this poll, because for some reason, it has obtained some mystical reputation as some artistic utopia of perfection. When in realtiy, it's severly over-rated. Columbus is growing and thriving, but still an unknown to most.

COL: Columbus
Rent: Columbus
Mass transit: Columbus
traffic: Columbus

Austin: too hot, too much traffic, too flat, too Texas

I lived in Columbus as a college graduate. The only job I could get was selling vacuums at Sears.

Austin has more goofy looking white people ("bohemian") so if course it would have more votes on city-data.

Voted Columbus to spite the purpose of the thread (boosting Austin at the expense of Columbus)

I hate to break the news, but the Sears outlet store in Columbus closed years ago.

LOL. Austin is very diverse sir. But yes, a ton of hipster types as well.
