Well Delaware State isn't in Philadelphia's MSA. That's what I was going by.

CSA not MSA - Kent County DE moved to the Philly CSA in 2010

It was recently added at the CSA level but it doesn't matter because it's starting to catch up to the Greater Atlanta Area regardless if it's MSA or CSA.

Delaware State also has a satellite campus in Wilmington, DE so technically Delaware State University should be included in the Philly MSA.

I think we can both agree that the Philly area is underrated when it comes to it's HBCU population. There are nearly over 100 universities and colleges in the Greater Philadelphia area ranging from Ivy League schools to Community Colleges. That probably plays a large part as to why the HBCU population in the Philly area is somewhat overshadowed when it comes to national recognition.

Actually, I think it's because Philly is in the north and the vast majority of HCBU's are in the south.

In terms of institutions, yes. In terms of student population, no. A couple other metros have higher HBCU enrollments.
