Forgot what the criteria was? Both coasts are great in their own respects. History--East, Scenery (dramatic) west. Maybe a better question would be to see which ocean one prefers; Atlantic or Pacific?

The scenery of the Western United States is pretty epic, like a whole different species/ball-game from the scenery you typically find in the (mostly uniform) Eastern United States. Whole different level.

Its true, its just much more diverse than the east coast which has such subtle change north to south. Or I should say the far north is different than the far south, but the middle is largely the same.

I grew up on the East Coast, but now live in the Midwest. The Midwest is fairly similar to the South, but the people are nicer. I am definitely NOT a West Coast person at all. Just not my lifestyle at all.

Whats the midwest and south got to do with it? I disagree on the 'niceness', the south is known for their hospitality. Midwesterners seem to be nice but in a very reserved way.

About half of the South is on the East Coast. Southerners are very nice, but the minute you turn your back they are talking crap about you.
