Hmm...well i voted East Coast since that's my home...but the coasts are so very different. It's like comparing 2 different countries entirely. Not sure they can really stack up against one another since they are so different.
Basically. Especially the Lower 48 is big enough to be a continent in and of itself, some of these regions in the U.S. are big enough to be their own countries.
If any city from the East (other than NYC) was placed on the West Coast, I think they would still play 3rd fiddle to LA and SF.
This is basically it.
LA and SF have the 2nd and 3rd largest CSA GDPs and both would rank in the world's top 10, LA being 3rd and the Bay would be 8th in the world, actually beating DC despite having 1 million less people. lmao.
As far as combined economic and cultural impact, in 2013 the nation's top 3 are clearly NY, LA and the Bay.
No disrepect to the aged, but time waits for no man, or city.
One day we'll get supplanted by Austin and Salt Lake just like youve been supplanted by LA and SF.
Sorry I thought we were all supposed to say ridiculous things in this thread.
Speaking of ridiculous, DC people might have an economic boost soon cause we might be going to war in Syria. Increased defense spending might help your stagnant office market and faltering job market.
I have lived and traveled up and down the East Coast from Fl to Vermont and have just moved to the Seattle area from the midwest (St. Louis area of IL). I adore the East Coast. It's my "home" but I gotta tell ya, the PNW is seeping into my soul. The beauty of the area is just...le sigh. I haven't been here long enough to form a general opinion on the people but the folks I have encountered thus far have been nothing but nice.
East Coast all the way. Denser, four distinct seasons, better location (equidistant to Europe and the West Coast), beaches with warm water and much more real/less fake.
I mean I know Cali is a massive state but it seems that 89 million might be too much even for them. I wonder if Texas will be a different story since it has even more space.
