Texas could survive without the United States. The United States could not survive without Texas.

Complete nonsense. On both counts.

Yea sorry but... Texas isn't THAT important. It might have a good economy now, but so do a lot of other states.

Should it become an independent country Texas would be assimilated by Mexico in no time.

Ok let's stop this bickering, Texas is just as important like every other state.

Yes Texas could be it's own country but it's to late for that. Texas gave up it's rights to be it's own country when we joined the union in 1845. What Texas can do that no other state can is break up into 5 separate states, but I highly doubt that will happen either.

In 1845, perhaps it could have grown independently. Today, it would not survive on it's own for the long term.

Perhaps, but we will never know what Texas would have looked like if we never became part of the union. Today only our dumb governor would say such a thing and brain wash a few thousand. A true Texan is an American at heart. Texas will NEVER leave America, even if America collapses we are all in this together.

It is a cold stone cinch that Texas will beat out California, and sooner than you think. Here's an eye-opening interview that explains why:

The Weekend Interview with Joel Kotkin: The Great California Exodus - WSJ.com

Essentially? California public policy is hollowing out the middle class.
