OK metro activists, which of these metros have nicest affluent
suburbs. Affluent can be $50,000 and up in annual per capita income.

I chose these three, because of how varied they are. While NY has geographical
diversity, Chicago excels in spotless uniformity and in LA anything goes.

The way I would answer this question is to pick the top three suburbs in each
per my own opinion and compare.

NY
-Greenwich
-New Canaan
-Bronxville

LA
-Malibu
-Laguna Beach
-Beverly Hills

Chicago
-Winnetka
-Lake Forest
-Highland Park

I think in order;
LA (Laguna Beach pushes it over)
NY
Chicago

New York has the most by far. More than the other two combined actually. Mainly because NY has thousands of individual places, it's massive.

Here is an old thread I created that you might find interesting.

LA. And Laguna Beach shouldn't be on the list. It's in Orange County, NOT Los Angeles!

Perfect weather and miles upon miles of beaches.

Why is this even up or debate? LA perfects luxury.

I don't think either Angelenos or The OC would accept the other in their group.

the answer is nyc...though, its somewhat an unfair question to l.a. in comparison to the other two... as la city limits are so large.

I think LA has the most well known affluent suburbs (well they're cities in their own right but you get the point). How many times have we heard in the media about Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills 90210), Bel Air(Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Malibu (Two&A Half Men, Malibu's Most Wanted), Calabasas (Keeping Up With the Kardashians), and the list goes on and on. I don't here a whole lot about Greenwich, New Canaan, Bronxville, etc. And even though Chicago has affluent suburbs (like every city) they're really not anything to brag about. Chicago's suburbs are largely just middle class for the most part like Dallas and Atlanta's suburbs.
