It's Mid-Atlantic. Nobody south of the Potomac River calls D.C. the south. D.C. is at the very end of the Northeast and the the extreme northern tip of the south. It's the southernmost northern city and the northernmost southern city. I say that because the city is very 50% north 50% south.

But if I had to choose a region DC is on the northeast coast. It has nothing in common with cities south of it besides having a lot of black people. But then again Detroit is 80% black and it ain't southern.

Atlanta use to have a great nightlife. But it seems like people in charge are doing everything in their powetto destroy that. Some of my friends back in Atlanta are stating their closing clubs a lot earlier and earlier. So sad.

The West Coast is hands down the worst region for night life. Not sure about the best region though, but I think the northeast is solid.

????????

For the best nightlife we will compare the last call times, bar scene, strip club scene, lounge scene, bar districts, etc.
I would go with the Northeast first because NY, AC are beyond amazing. DC, Boston and Philly are all major cities that offer a lot and are top 10 in the country to me. Midwest is second, WC is third and the south is last. I can't tolerate what goes on in NOLA or Atlanta.

Northeast>Midwest>WC>South

The info is about Atlanta is somewhat true and somewhat false. The last call when from 4am to 3am. There are places that close 4am in the suburbs. Atlanta nightlife went from having one huge area with over 100+ nightclubs to several smaller nightclub districts scattered across the city. Overall it is better now because most of the trouble makers party outside of the city limits generally. As far as diversity of nightlife in Atlanta, Atlanta is probably in the top 5 in the USA if you compare the 3am closing time, strip clubs that serve alcohol while the dancer are butt naked, the underground scene, bar scene, megaclubs, etc.

The south. You have Miami, New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston and DC.

How the heck is the West Coast above the south? That doesn't make any sense. The West Coast has pathetic night life.
