If going to Texas then I'd say Dallas or Austin without a doubt. You can't buy any reasonable place in Chicago for under $200k without being in the way far out suburbs. You can do that easily anywhere in Texas.
Weird. I've lived in four out of five of these cities; Austin, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston. In addition to going to San Antonio a whole lot while in my college years in Austin.
Glad to have experienced them all honestly. I'd tell you to go with Austin.
For a single family home in the second quarter of 2013, the average price was about $231,000. You can see the prices for all the metro areas on this link.
Obviously I meant Atlanta and Decatur in Georgia. These are much more progressive than any Tx city except Austin.
I don't think this is true. The cities of Dallas and Houston get underrated on this all the time on here. Suburbs are very conservative as they are almost everywhere, but the cities of Dallas and Houston are progressive. Certainly every bit as progressive as Austin.
Why would he want to move to Decatur or Atlanta, Texas? Neither are suburbs of Houston, Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio. Well Decatur could be in a few years.
Well done my lord! I had to google Decatur and Atlanta Texas.
If you are going to live in the suburbs it makes not much difference which you choose, but there isn't much of a replacement in Texas for Chicago.
