This is not true at all regarding Chicago. Chicago is actually a huge bargain. It's closer to the Texas cities in COL than it is to the coasts.

that's why I also said Chicago and it's suburbs as well I wouldn't mind being in a suburb of Chicago as long as it's close to Chicago

Weird. I've lived in four out of five of these cities; Austin, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston. In addition to going to San Antonio a whole lot while in my college years in Austin.

Glad to have experienced them all honestly. I'd tell you to go with Austin.

Obviously I meant Atlanta and Decatur in Georgia. These are much more progressive than any Tx city except Austin.

For a single family home in the second quarter of 2013, the average price was about $231,000. You can see the prices for all the metro areas on this link.

I don't think this is true. The cities of Dallas and Houston get underrated on this all the time on here. Suburbs are very conservative as they are almost everywhere, but the cities of Dallas and Houston are progressive. Certainly every bit as progressive as Austin.

Which has nothing to do with the thread and your premise is false.

If you are going to live in the suburbs it makes not much difference which you choose, but there isn't much of a replacement in Texas for Chicago.
