London_Knowledge - I have been a silent reader of this thread. Leaving all the noise and bickering aside on the thread, did you make a decision? Just curious.

Hi, yes there has been alot of bickering. I usually hate bickering but I will not tolerate people disagreeing on proven facts of statistics. Most people on here are cool but theres a minority who are know it all, wannabe intellectual types.
Yes ive chosen a place and move there in 8 days times.
For the weather, IT economy, sports teams, cost of living and general feel of the city I have chosen Dallas. Richardson to be exact. A good neighbourhood
With train into city where my job will be option of driving too in 30 mins or so.
Im looking forward to this new adventure. Thanks to the people who contributed on here with useful info.

I hope you enjoy your new home. The whole city of Dallas is under construction right now which bodes very well for the future of that city. Take care.

Ciao

Thanks for the update. I was curious because I was in a similar predicament a month ago. I picked Dallas and just moved here from Minneapolis a few days ago. I am liking it a lot here (minus the traffic!). I am sure you'd be happy given the things that you were looking for. so, Welcome!

It's the bias that makes it stupid--I made that very clear. Why is this so difficult?

Definitely the warmer winters! Although it is pretty cold out here for the next few days. The gray long winters were our biggest drive to get out of MN. Minneapolis otherwise is one of the best cities to live in. About Dallas though, other than the weather, just living a bigger city has a nice feel to it. Lot of diversity, great infrastructure and it has a "new" city feeling.

Sounds great can't wait. Its a huge city with alot to do and see I think. Alot of culture and a good market for jobs. Plus weather is the real bonus. Yeah I can imagine its cold but not the same coldness of Minneapolis or London. You may have to scrape ice off your car 10 days a year I will swap that any day for having ti do it every day from nov to March! I too am fed up of the freezing grey cold so dallas will be a real treat.

London - keep us updated! I think you will find Dallas to be a very interesting and fun city!

LOL by the way, Dallas is in the midst of a gargantuan ice storm as we speak - but it's a bit unusual. But as they say, "as luck would have it - !"
