True. Make it a race between two northern urban cities and two from the sunbelt and the vote would be more stark.
This is sort of parallel. I think Seattle's unusual climate is a big part of why we're growing quickly. If you like four distinct seasons or a hot climate there are many options. But there are only two cool/mild cities in the US in Seattle and Portland. Even if a small percentage of people prefer our climate, say 10% for a wild guess, the western halves of Washington/Oregon have something north of 2.5% of the US population, so it's natural that we grow.
Your link 8s data about city propers, hence why it includes the DFW suburb of Arlington as the fifth most diverse city, while the two links in the message you quote discuss metropolitan areas.
I just figured the thread is but th e cities proper. MSA stats are to subjective and in accurate IMO. For instance th e Boston MSA includes to exurban/rural NH counties that are all white yet it doesn't include parts of MA that are 20 miles from Boston, and includes none of RI. Thats absurd and silly. Unless the thread says MSA, I go by city proper.
And by no measure is anything Boston 81% white. Important to use non Hispanic white-especially on the east coast

Out of those 3 I'd take Seattle hands down. Been to all 3. While I liked aspects about Boston and Houston. I don't think I'd want to live in either one.
Weather: Boston (For me, all four seasons, not the same everyday)
Traffic: Seattle
Public Transportation: Boston
Outdoor Recreation: Seattle
Safety (crime): Seattle
Safety (natural disaster): Seattle
Job Market: Boston
Diversity: Houston
People: Boston ( I like fast paced people sorry)
Oh wow. Good to know. I should have moved to Boston back in 2016. I was always worried about the diversity in Boston. I was always told that Boston was so Racist but anywhere can be racist.

Ah difference of opinion. For me Houston edges out Seattle. More affordable IMO better weather, more diverse and better culture/food. Boston is easily 3rd. Very overrated IMO, and so many rude people.

boston has a deserved and undeserved reputation of racism; but, there are other metros in this country that have worser racist issues.
