Yes, Boston is very photogenic! Great pics and info.

I am amazed at how much Mission Bay has transformed that entire part of town. I go to UCSF sometimes to take my parents and it's like every time I go there, something new has sprung up.

Agreed. Both cities have good transit, but Boston's transit is somewhat better, with real urban heavy rail, and a better suburban rail network.

Do the new developments in the Seaport area make a case for DT Boston against SF?

Both are great. Boston has the North End whch gives it the win. If we include the new Seaport, then Boston for sure.

Also, jsimms.. if you want some new Seaport pics go to: www.archboston.org

Greater Downtown Boston is more architecturally and geographically diverse. It’s just more interesting overall than greater downtown SF. Like from a passive, walking around standpoint at least...

I voted Boston

Love both of these cities, but in terms of "downtowns" I'd have to go with Boston. Traditional NE downtown with a nice cleanliness/neatness to it. Love Boston's harbors/waterfronts (the Charles River) as well.

As a region, I probably like the Bay Area a little more, but strictly comparing downtown, I give it to Boston. Really love downtown Boston.

Boston downtown seems to lack the pedestrian vibrancy of DT SF
