Greater San Francisco Vs. Greater DC: Which One Is More Urban? (better, America)

Which of these cities/metros is more urban in your opinion and why? Both have a similar CSA populations and both are undergoing major transformations with infill and TOD.

San Fran. I don't know if any city outside of New York is more urban than San Fran in America. Look how high the density is. The whole city is pretty much zero lot development. The land constraints has a lot to do with it also. It's very similar to Manhattan in that regard.

The OP did say METRO not just city, even though i believe SF still wins but it evens the battle a little more.

I hope San Jose isn't included in this because if it is then its only fair to do this on a CSA basis.

I'd say that Bay Area is by far more urban.

It's not, just like Baltimore isn't.

The Bay Area is more urban definitely.

DC is urban but it's not the whole metro.
