This is posted a lot, but I'm confused--is it meant to somehow demean "the appealing lifestyle?" I'm one who moved, not for work, but because of the appealing lifestyle, and have found it to exceed my expectations.

That's the key. As has been stated time and time again, SF is a different animal than NYC. These guys are so sensitive to all things ny that they cannot for a second understand that SF doesn't have to be Gotham to be great. Likewise it is possible for other cities to get votes vs NYC. Not everybody wants to live in either city but they both certainly have their own following. In context to this thread it doesn't matter that NYC is older bigger richer poorer denser or more important on a world stage those are things everyone knows, but that doesn't mean it's a better city for all people. There's a handful of great North American cities and both are in that club.

So what this means is, IF NEW YORK HAD THE SAME PROPORTION OF ULTRA HIGH NET WORTH INDIVIDUALS AS SF, THERE WOULD BE 12,000+ SUCH PERSONS INSTEAD OF 8,000.
Yes, and on average, the SF family is wealthier than the average NYC family and its not close.
I'm really not sure how this got into the topic of which city is richer, because that's not what I posted on the original question?

None of them will admit that 'bigger' is not the same thing as 'better'.
New York is NOT richer than the Bay Area as far as per capita income, per capita gdp, average household income, average family income, median household income, median family income, median earnings, or any other quantitative income measure I could find and those are indisputable facts.
SF>NY as far as affluence and has been going back as far as bea.gov data will allow.
But instead of moving on to other criteria notice these embarrassing responses, post after post by these people talking about leagues, tiers, elites and exclusive clubs---its hilarious.
It doesnt matter how many tacky jetsetters NYC has SF is still more affluent.
It doesnt matter how many highrises NYC has, SF still has a stronger economy.

Yup. It all boils down to ignorance.
As far as being 'Gotham', the term 'Manhattanization' was coined in SF to scare locals into passing building codes that made sure we stayed as UNManhattanlike as possible.
LOL, you seem so proud of having more income in the SF that you post it around all over the place. If it meant so much to people they so much to people they would be living in somewhere like suburban Charlotte not overly expensive San Francisco. Since you like stats so much here is some:
San Francisco should be making $91,655.35 after COL is adjusted but pis poor SF only makes $72,947. Aww so 3rd world San Francisco is not the richest city in the world like you go on and even some suburban town in the east coast manages to beat it
In all seriousness, neither NYC or any of the top teir cities in the world harp on about it's salary or cost of living to your average Joe. If it's that important to you that would live somewhere of inferior quality then bother coming here, nobody wants you, those cities have plenty of people already. What those cities do have however is plenty of upper elite rich way more so that SF can dream of but that's a different discussion.
I know saying all this to you is a waste of time and probably even a 5 year old would understand this better but still the amount of BS you keep on posting, if only one could get banned here for simpleminded posting....
